Jim Priestley Real Word Windows Azure; Using Azure Storage to Host 700,000 Product Images and serve 27,000 Unique Visitors per Day for less than $50 per Month! |
 |
Jim will review how he and his team leverage Azure Storage to host the image catalog of PlcCenter.com, Radwell’s B2B website. PlcCenter.com was migrated to Azure in January of 2011, and regularly sees more than 27,000 unique visitors per day, and generates nearly one million dollars per month in direct online sales. This session will start with a discussion on the financial and performance benefits of using Azure for hosting, and the deployment lessons learned. Then we will quickly go into a demo of how the 700,000 image catalog is synchronized, with Azure storage. We will also dig into SSL configuration for blobs, Azure CDN, and Azure Storage Analytics.
Jim Priestley, is Vice President of Information Technology, at Radwell International, Inc. Jim has over 17 years’ experience designing and developing systems in the Retail and Manufacturing industries, specializing in integrating custom business apps with Dynamics GP and Dynamics CRM, using the Microsoft stack. Jim and his wife have five children, and live at the Jersey Shore. When he is not building software, Jim enjoys camping with his son’s Boy Scout Troop, and long distance cycling.
